•Learning Objectives: Identify the topic and objectives of your learning module
•Sequence of Content: Briefly describe in what order you will present the content of your lesson
•Design Description: Provide a description of how your design plan would integrate the multimedia, contiguity and modality principles
•Rationale: Provide a rationale for each of your design decisions
•Technologies: You will complete this section as part of your Week 5 Application.
•Prototype Description: You will complete this section as part of your Week 5 Application. You will also create a Prototype. Please refer to Week 5 Application for more details.
Course Project – Distance Learning Module, Design Plan and Prototype (Part 3)
•Technologies: In this section of your design plan, answer the questions:
◦Which technology tools would you use to develop your learning module? Why?
◦Which technology tools would you use to implement your learning module? Why?
◦Which technology tools, if any, would you include in order to make the learning experience interactive (ex. blog, podcasting, discussion boards)?
•Prototype Description: In your design plan, briefly describe what content your prototype will depict, and which design principles are most apparent in the prototype. Then, you may create your prototype in any number of ways. You could use Word, PowerPoint, Xmind, HTML, or any other application/software that you think will best showcase what you have in mind for one component of your topic. Or, you could choose to hand-sketch your prototype, and then scan your sketch into a picture file (.gif or .jpeg).
For example, if your topic is Photosynthesis, you could create one PowerPoint slide depicting an overview of the process. Then in your design plan, in the prototype section, you could describe how your prototype meets the redundancy principle because the explanation that corresponds with the graphics will be narrated and not presented on the screen.
